Barney Frank

Former U.S. Congressman Barney Frank was appointed to the Board of Directors in June 2015.  Representative Frank is an author, speaker and an Adjunct Lecturer in Public Policy at Harvard Kennedy School.  Representative Frank represented the 4th District of Massachusetts from 1981-2013 and served as Chairman of the House Financial Services Committee from 2007-2011. Representative Frank was instrumental in crafting the short-term $550 billion rescue plan in response to the nation’s financial crisis, and later, co-sponsored the Dodd-Frank Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act, signed into law in July 2010.  In 1987, Representative Frank became the first member of Congress to voluntarily acknowledge being openly gay, and in 2012, he became the nation’s first congressman to marry someone of the same sex while in office.
